Looking for a quick and healthy dinner? Grilled Salmon is an easy win. The hardest part is having fresh salmon on hand. This quick and simple recipe is guaranteed to make your family fall in love with fresh grilled fish.
- Red potatoes – 3 regular size, quartered
- Salmon fillet – 3/4 lb
- Butter – 1 tbsp melted
- Garlic powder
- lemon juice (or one fresh lemon)
1.) Roast the potatoes. Cover them in oil, then cover with black pepper, salt and garlic powder. These will take the longest so get them going first. For this recipe I used a small convection oven at 370 degrees for 15 minutes, then 5 minutes at 340.
2.) Start and clean the grill. Turn the burners up and let the grill get nice and hot while preparing the fish.
3.) Mix the garlic powder with the butter to taste, then pour over the salmon. Typically about .5 tbsp garlic powder to 1 tbsp of butter.
4.) Oil the grill to prevent the salmon from sticking.
5.) Choose either the left side or the right and lay the salmon across the grill as shown below. Turn off the burner directly below the Salmon fillet and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
6.) Sear the sides of the salmon. This helps seal in the juices. It should be firm enough to turn the fillet on it’s side.
7.) Flip the fillet to each side, letting each cook for about 4 or 5 minutes with direct flame underneath.
8.) Cook the broccoli in boiling water for about 3 minutes at this point so it’s all done at the same time.
9.) Cook until the fillet reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit at it’s thickest part.
10.) Cover the Salmon in lemon juice and serve with potatoes and broccoli. That’s it, your done and everyone is fed!
