What’s for lunch? Today it’s these easy, inexpensive and delicious veggie sushi rolls.
You will need:
- Sushi rolling mat (you can get one at the grocery store for under $5.00)
- Rice – 1 cup uncooked
Variants can all be added depending on availability, preference, etc…
- Red Bell Pepper
- Habanero oil
Prepare the rice as usual. While the rice is cooking, prepare your ingredients sliced into medium thin strips.
Once the rice is fully cooked, make a layer of rice on top of one strip of Nori.
Next make a row of each of your ingredients. Today I am using a delicious local habanero oil from Chili Beak at www.ChiliBeak.com.
Now it’s time to make the roll. Start with the ingredients closest to you and roll them up in the mat. It takes some practice but you will get it.
Once it’s rolled up, it’s time to slice the roll. You will need a very sharp knife for this part. Simply slice each roll 6 or 7 times and serve.
I enjoy mine with wasabi and soy sauce.
